We had fun Tuesday!

Tuesday's class was fun and fanciful!  We played with friendly plastic and everyone came out with fantastic creations!  We used many colors, turquoise, hot pink, purple, different golds and silver to create our multicolored marbled masterpieces!  I have been demoing this in the store also.

Our hiway in front of the store will be torn up starting at midnite tonite.  We will have no street for a week.  So if you are coming to the store please use Boulevard Ave. and turn east on 8th to get to the store.  They say our street will be beautiful and that they will finish by Friday.. we will see.

If you twitter please follow me on twitter...www.twitter.com/picattic

I will be adding specials to twitter followers periodically!  It may be 10 % off or more... it will be worthwhile!

We have added lots of new embellishments including 7 Gypsies and Making Memories.

Come on in and see us... Tuesday class will be using bleach, twinkling H2Os and embossing... should be fun and beautiful!

Our watercolor classes are going well too! I promise I will get with it and add some pictures to this soon!

Sorry for the lack of entries here!

We had a fun time with Vickie Branch of M & D Designs in Chinook Wednesday evening.  She taught a group of us to do Viking knit in Sterling Silver... it was interesting, fun and we had a bracelet when we were done.  Margaret Dessell and her daughter, Randi were here to join us.  Always good to see them and we enjoy their company.  Also joining us was Sharon Strong of Yakima!

The shop is full of wonderful papers, brads and embellishments, waiting for you to select your favorites!

In card class this week we made a flip card from the Paper Cuts cards and also a double shutter card.  Both were worth making. We used double sided paper from the scrapbooking side of the store to decorate the cards, with a stamp in the flavor of the paper... One was a beach scene and the other a general purpose card.

Also we used the House Mouse stamp from February... it featured two mice holding up hearts that said "I love you".  We trimmed out the hearts and put a sign  in the mouses' hands that said Congratulations Graduate... and Dare to be yourself... a nice graduation card and a new way to use the stamp!  We colored with watercolor pencils, because of the soft effects you can get with them and embellished with the star burst gel pen, it gives a bit of sparkle, without using glitter.

Our Saturday classes have been on hold lately, but would love to have you come and play... See you soon??

Big Weekend!
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: Seattle Gals Visit

A big weekend was had by all.  Nine ladies from the Seattle area were here from Friday afternoon through Sunday mid-day.  In that time we created three books and  a folder cover!

Everyone was creative to the max and I think all were happy with their projects.  Pictures will follow!  We made gorgeous papers from lowly kraft paper on Friday evening and they were dry and ready to do for our book on Saturday.  We constructed an Orgami book with our papers Saturday morning, then a tag book and then the mini legal pad holder.  Before dinner we started our Asian slide holder book and after dinner we finished the construction.  Sunday was spent embellishing and shopping.  All in all a productive and happy weekend.  Now I need to prepare for my gals on Tuesday!

Come back and play again!

Picture Attic
Mood:  chatty
Now Playing: Watercolor classes and other happenings!
Topic: Things are happening!

This is my first blog and it is exciting to get this going!  Our store has been having more fun lately with Michele and her watercolor classes... more and more beginners are coming to join us and finding that watercolor is fun!

You can see what has been going on at: www.justwatercolor.blogspot.com

As I get better at this we will be adding photos and demos to the blog as well as offering products for sale with payment via paypal.

This is a learning experience for me and I know I can do it.

Our card classes have been busy too, with 7 or 8 coming each week,  These classes are geared toward anyone who wants to play with paper!

These cards were done with Adirondack dye reinkers in a spritz bottle..I really like the way the colors blend and play with each other!  To use the reinkers for spritzing you must dilute them with water... about two inches of water in a small bottle with three good hard squirts of the ink. Shake it up well and go for it... Combining colors that are close to each other works best.  So if you use Butterscotch, Red Peper and Cranberry you will get a beautiful red to orange color..We have the reinkers and the bottles and I will gladly publish the recipes for some of the color combinations that work for me.  Let me know at:

That's all for now, tune in again for more fun at the Picture Attic!
